POSITION
SUMMARY:
The Student
Housing Specialist will oversee the onboarding and development of the student
desk aides of all applicable buildings in additional to handing scheduling
disputes and managing administrative duties for the central office. This
position will be responsible for student furniture, lounge furniture, summer
furniture moves, refrigerators, and other Residence Life appliances. This
position manages the housing crew staff that moves furniture during the school
year and summer. Works under the direct supervision of the Business Manager and
Assistant Vice President of Residence Life and Housing.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine desk support duties at the main residence life office. Supports the department by fielding phone
calls, directing visitors, and responding to letters and other mail. Interacts
and builds rapport with parents, students, visitors, and university officials
to fulfill the outreach commitments that are expected.
Coordinates the
recruitment, training, and ongoing development of all student desk aides for
the residential buildings managed by the Office of Residence Life. Supervises
the student desk aides’ schedules for every residential building. Coordination of daily adjustments resulting
from call-offs and time off with resident directors is part of this.
Oversees the
completion of the crew assignments pertaining to the furniture in the residence
halls and assists with furniture replacement, moving, and rearranging. Fulfill
any additional inventory-related tasks that the department deems required.
Assist with the delivery of refrigerators and furnishings for contractors.
Completes other
duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises
student employees only.
Guides work of
others who perform the same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule and
review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance
or make pay decisions, e.g., Lead position.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree an accredited institution and 1-3years of progressively
responsible experience.
Current PA
driver’s license in good standing.
