POSITION SUMMARY:
The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Duquesne University
(DUQCOM) invites applications for a medical school Admissions Coordinator. This
position requires someone who is professional, energetic, and highly
service-oriented and will be responsible for assisting the COM team in growing
student enrollment for the medical school. The primary duty of the Admissions
Coordinator is to manage and process student applications to the COM through
our customer relationship management (CRM), Slate. The Admissions Coordinator
ensures the completion of each application and organizes and records all
application information into the CRM database. Additionally, the Admissions
Coordinator will assist the Admissions Department in activities such as
recruitment fairs, open houses, accepted student days, scheduling candidate
interviews, and communications with applicants regarding their status in the
program, and will serve as the liaison between COM Admissions, Academic
Excellence, Assessment, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs departments, as
well as with the Duquesne University Enrollment Management Group (EMG). As such, the
qualified applicant must possess excellent communication, organization,
multitasking, customer service, flexibility, and teamwork skills, and be able
to work in a fast-paced environment. DUQCOM strives to promote a campus

The
position reports to the Director of Admissions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support for new applicants to
DUQCOM: receives and reviews student inquiries for admission to DUQCOM academic
programs; provides advising and support to student applicants, and prepares
appropriate responses with supporting materials to prospective student queries;
ensures accurate and timely completion of student applications for admittance
to DUQCOM.
Manages admissions data gathering and processing in WEBADMIT and
SLATE: accurately maintains current student application records while
maintaining confidentiality; processes applications for admission to the COM
including interfacing with WEBADMIT and SLATE CRM systems, and in this role,
serves as the primary SLATE expert in the COM. In this role, the successful
candidate will represent DUQCOM, the Office of Admissions, and the University
favorably and following established core values and expectations.
Serves as liaison throughout the Academic
Affairs Department: maintains logs and records regarding student applications
and student data from initial application through matriculation, and throughout
the student’s education at the COM; works cooperatively with all aspects of
Academic Affairs and the IT Department by assisting in data governance, data
analysis, and reporting of student records in support of desired DUQCOM
outcomes related to recruitment, admissions, retention, and student success.
Helps to promote the COM as a competitive
educational choice by assisting the Admissions Department with as
recruitment fairs, open houses, accepted student days.
This
position requires daytime and some overnight travel as well as some night and
weekend work throughout the year.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
institution.
1+ years of customer service experience.
Attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task.
Microsoft
Office Suite expertise: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher as well
as Outlook e-mail.
Knowledge of, or the ability
to learn internal University systems.
Willingness and ability to
utilize new technologies relevant to the position.
Valid PA Driver’s license.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications,
Journalism, or Life Sciences major preferred.
Previous work experience in a medical
school setting.

1+ years of higher education-related work
experience preferred.
