Position Summary:

The Duquesne University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking motivated and medical students to serve as PULSE Pathway Curriculum Fellows. This unique opportunity allows medical students to contribute to a longitudinal pathway program designed to support middle and high school students interested in healthcare careers. Fellows will be integral in developing and implementing engaging STEM/healthcare-related curriculum, administering the program, and conducting research to evaluate its impact. This role offers a chance to combine a passion for mentorship and community engagement with valuable experience in curriculum development, program administration, and educational research.

Responsibilities: 

· Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty and program staff to design, develop, and refine age-appropriate and engaging STEM/healthcare-related lesson plans and activities for middle and high school students.

· Program Administration: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of PULSE program activities, including summer programming, academic advising, and tutoring support.

· Evaluation: Contribute to developing and implementing research protocols to assess the effectiveness of the PULSE program on student engagement, academic outcomes, and interest in healthcare careers.

· Data Collection and Analysis: Support the collection, management, and initial analysis of data concerning program participation and student outcomes.

· Assessment Development: Develop and administer pre- and post-assessments to evaluate student learning and the effectiveness of specific curriculum components.

· Lesson Plan Implementation: Lead and facilitate learning activities based on the developed curriculum during program sessions.
