POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Donor Engagement is responsible for creating and maintaining strong relationships with donors for the University Advancement team. This position’s primary goal is to ensure donors have high quality interactions with the organization, to nurture relationships with donors and prospects and to develop effective stewardship plans. This role also involves finding innovative ways to thank and recognize donors, fostering long-term engagement. A Key Focus of the Assistant Director is to effectively manage donors’ fund and align them with their intended purposes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role involves leadership in tracking and building endowed scholarship fund. Additionally, it serves as a point of contact for donor relations with the finance department regarding the updates of over 900+ endowed and non-endowed funds. This position focuses on working with the DR team to manage and maintain donor funds for donor relations while ensuring that all 900+ funds are managed efficiently, organized and kept up to date.

Coordinates with the team to manage the distribution of the annual endowment report. Collaborates closely with financial aid colleagues to provide deans and fund administrators with endowment information’s. Serves as the primary contact for budget managers across all 11 schools and meets with them annually to ensure they fully understand their fiduciary responsibilities which are essential for successful end of the year reporting.

Plans, coordinates and helps execute on campus donor centric events such as memorials, dedications, donor recognition events. Takes the lead on several on campus donor events under the supervision of the DDR.

Serves at the primary contact for budget managers across all 11 schools and meets with them annually to ensure they fully understand their fiduciary responsibilities.

Monitors cultivation and engagement of past and current donors to enhance their relationship with the university and increase the likelihood of their continued supports.

Completes other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

3- 5 years of relevant work experience

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate and advance strategic plans and programs that support the strategic engagement of the University’s top prospects and donors.

Experience in fund raising activities, preferably in an academic setting and any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills.
Knowledge of the process and practices for seeking and securing major gifts in general, and for the aspects of donor engagement and stewardship in particular, including knowledge of fund accounting and scholarship and endowment fund administration.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
