Kline School of Law of Duquesne University Position Status: Full-time Hours: Varied Position Number: 242603/10-1094 FLSA Status: ExemptPOSITION SUMMARY:The Assistant Director of Admissions reports directly to the Director of Law School Admissions. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and analyzing strategies for recruiting a highly qualified, diverse student body to the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University. The Assistant Director is the primary contact for prospective students and assists in the processing and review of applications. The Assistant Director is also responsible for managing all on-campus events and online information sessions and serves as the webmaster, social media specialist, and marketing communications project manager for the Law School Office of Admissions. The incumbent will work closely with the law school Director of Marketing and Communications and with the University’s Division of Media and Communications. This position requires evening and weekend event responsibilities and seasonal recruiting travel.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains a student service-oriented environment in the Law School Admissions Office.Counsel prospective students on the law school admissions process and financial aid policies and procedures.Develops and executes on-campus and online recruitment events including information sessions, Admitted Students Day, and individual and group visits. Leads tours for prospective and admitted students.Travels to LSAC Forums, university law fairs, and admission panels to represent the Thomas R. Kline School of Law. Develops relationships with undergraduate institutions, pre-law advisors, pre-law societies and other constituents. Develops strategies to increase the quality and diversity of the applicant pool for the JD and L.L.M. programs.Assists with the creation and implementation of conversion strategies to increase yield and mitigate melt.Utilizes LSAC Unite and Banner databases to access the online application for admission, run reports, review admitted student information and integrate enrolled student data.Reviews and updates applicant files; makes admissions recommendations.Prepares statistical reports using LSAC Unite; analyzes data.Provides data and analysis of peer law schools.Tracks and analyzes data to determine the effectiveness of recruitment strategies. Develops and implements new strategies and techniques designed to attract and enroll a diverse and competitive student body. While working closely with the Director of Admissions, law school Director of Marketing and Communications, and with the University's Division of Media and Communications, this position leads the creation and implementation of marketing and communication strategies, messaging, and campaigns across digital and traditional media platforms including website, social media, print, email, and text. Employs best practices and standards for recruitment, marketing, and communications across the various channels to ensure consistency in brand and messaging. Maintains integrity and confidentiality in every aspect of the admissions and scholarship awarding process.Serve as liaison with other university offices to assist students with Financial Aid, Health Services, and other needs.Evening and weekend work is required in this position.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Law School Admissions.
REQUIREMENTS:Minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.3-5 years of experience in admissions or relevant work experience.Must have working knowledge of the following computer systems: Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Valid Driver’s license in good standingPreferred qualifications:Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.Experience in law school admissions preferred.Knowledge of LSAC Unite and Banner preferred.Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
