Graduate Assistant - Human Resources Training Specialist

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Learning and Development in the Office of Human Resources, the Part-time Graduate Assistant (GA) Training Specialist will support various training activities and perform the necessary clerical functions needed to provide training programs and workshops. This may also include designing, developing and presenting various employee training programs, in the classroom and within an online course management tool. Training may include, but is not limited to areas of technology, policy and compliance and soft skills.

Work schedule is flexible, but consists of 20 hours per week. Work will be reviewed by observation of training sessions, class evaluations, overall improved employee work performance/skill development, and conference. Financial aid of six credits in the fall and spring semesters is included.

Performs a variety of tasks supporting and maintaining a training program and facilitating professional development workshops.

Coordinates and manages all training logistics including hands-on data entry into our Learning Management System and other training related logistics (arranging training rooms, scheduling Zoom links, setting up teleconference lines) and other pre and post training communications.

Assists in conducting needs assessments to identify performance gaps, new employee development needs and recommends training delivery methods accordingly.

Develops training materials, evaluations and assessment for both classroom, virtual and web-based learning opportunities to ensure transfer of learning, students’ master of course materials, and training effectiveness.
Evaluates effectiveness of training programs; utilizes evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.

Assists with converting existing instructor-led classroom materials to an online or blended format using the DU Learning Management System.
Manages the electronic communications for the Learning and Development department.

Performs related duties as assigned.
